6G as a Digital Nervous System: The Future of Networks and AI

This article envisions the upcoming 6G standard not as another iteration of speed, but as a fundamental paradigm shift toward a digital nervous system. Thanks to full integration with native artificial intelligence (AI), future networks will cease to be passive transmission channels and become autonomous systems capable of understanding context and anticipating needs. The author analyzes key technologies such as federated learning, reconfigurable smart surfaces, and their impact on the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT). The text emphasizes the need for ethical algorithmic responsibility and biocompatibility in systems that increasingly integrate with the human body and psyche, while also warning against marketing hype surrounding as yet unrealistic technical parameters.
