The article analyzes Singapore not as a static point on a map, but as a dynamic system of geographical, technological, and institutional interdependencies. The author indicates that sea routes in the region were the result of interaction between the environment and sailing knowledge, where the choice of a specific strait depended on the vessel's draft and hydrological conditions. A key element was monsoon seasonality, which forced the creation of entrepôt ports. Such centers functioned as 'time technology,' synchronizing the inconsistent trade calendars of different regions through warehousing and credit systems. In this way, the physical geography of the basin was transformed into an economic category, and Singapore's success became the result of flow optimization and the reduction of transport risks.
