The text analyzes the phenomenon of 'rewriting the present,' where the interpretation of events arises almost simultaneously with them, creating so-called real-time memory. Using the example of the dispute over the interpretation of the International Court of Justice's ruling on Gaza, the author shows how technical legal language is compressed into politically potent slogans. Utilizing Robert Entman's framing theory and the concept of agenda-setting, the article explains that the selection of facts and the distribution of media attention can lead to radically different conclusions, even while maintaining factual accuracy. A key element here is the causal horizon—the point in time from which we begin the story defines the understanding of the conflict and its assigned moral judgment.
