I like the word Engineer. For some reason it sounds so cool to me that nothing rockstar-ish can compare with that. There's no roof in this word, and no bragging at the same time. And you know if somebody is an Engineer, they seen things and been in places...
Nothing better than this profession is invented by humanity. So why not use its beautiful name.
Indeed! I haven't thought of that. Though in Russia it's highly associated with an underpaid and unprivileged intellectual, which collide with the idea of a passionate and dedicated professional that has the power to make things happen.
Things change these days, even in orthodoxy Russia, so Engineers get more and more respect. Though it definitely depends on what exact kind of engineering your engaged in.
In the end, it’s all about how you identify yourself in your own eyes. Ninjas, samurais, rockstars and whoever else are to cheesy and millennial-ish to me.
