Google Introduces Selfie Video Sign-In for Account Recovery

Google has introduced a new selfie video sign-in feature that makes account recovery both easier and more secure.

During setup, users can record a short selfie video by following a few simple on-screen instructions.

If they ever lose access to their account, they can record another selfie video, which Google compares with the original to confirm their identity.

The feature uses facial recognition and liveness detection to help prevent fake photos, pre-recorded videos, and AI-generated deepfakes from being used to access an account.

Google also says the selfie videos are stored securely with encryption, and users can delete them at any time if they choose.

By adding this feature, Google is giving users a safer and more convenient way to recover their accounts while strengthening protection against unauthorized access.
