My wallet is empty after approving a trading transaction—what just happened?

I’m honestly still confused about how fast this happened. Yesterday I connected my wallet to a trading platform someone recommended in a crypto group. The site looked normal and all I was trying to do was approve a transaction so I could start trading.

The moment I approved it, nothing seemed wrong at first.

A few minutes later I checked my wallet again and almost everything inside was gone. Not just the amount I intended to use for trading — literally multiple tokens had been transferred out to another address I didn’t recognize. I never shared my seed phrase with anyone, so I couldn’t understand how my wallet got emptied just from approving one transaction.

After panicking for hours I started searching terms like “wallet drained after approving contract” and “crypto approval scam.” That’s when I learned some smart contracts can apparently get permission to move funds once you approve them. Looking back, the platform kept rushing me to connect quickly before some “trading window” closed, which now feels suspicious.

I checked the blockchain explorer and saw several outgoing transactions I definitely didn’t make myself. Somebody on another forum mentioned Jim Recovery Team when talking about drained wallet investigations, so I contacted them mainly to understand whether the address that received my funds was tied to other scam reports.

Posting this because if a trading platform asks you to approve random wallet permissions, be extremely careful. I thought I was just confirming a normal crypto trade and ended up watching my wallet get wiped out.
