From Java to C#

Hi everyone!

I'm used to working in Java, but I recently got a job interview for a company that mainly uses C# with .Net. The catch? I have very little experience with the Microsoft ecosystem. The good news is that this is an entry-level position, so the hiring team wasn't harsh about my lack of C# knowledge—they explicitly stated that proficiency in any object-oriented language was enough to get me through the door.

Still, I really want to ace this opportunity, so I’m determined to get up to speed as fast as possible. I know I won't become a senior architect in two weeks, but I want to learn enough to feel comfortable in the work environment and not have the team hold my hand through every single task.

Since it's not guaranteed I'll get the role, I want to invest my time wisely. For those of you who have walked this path (or hire Java devs into .NET roles), what does the fast-track learning curve look like?

What I'm asking the Community:

• Resources: Are there specific "Java to C#" cheat sheets you recommend?
• Pitfalls: What is the #1 mistake Java developers make when writing C# that screams "I'm a Java dev!"?
