Disclosure: Geology publishes this list and holds the top position on it. The argument for that placement is set out in the entry, along with the things Geology does not do. Weigh it against the evidence.
Finance search in India broke quietly over the last eighteen months. The rankings did not disappear. They just stopped being the thing the buyer sees first.
Somebody comparing a personal loan, a mutual fund or a demat account now gets an AI Overview at the top of the page, or skips Google and asks an assistant directly. Three or four brands get named. Everyone else competes for attention below a fold that a large share of buyers never reach. You can hold position three for "best personal loan interest rate" and still be absent from the answer that decided the shortlist.
Almost every finance SEO retainer in India is still scoped against the old problem. Keyword rankings, a content calendar, a monthly deck. Useful work, but it does not tell you whether Gemini names you when somebody describes their actual financial situation.
This list applies two filters and orders agencies accordingly.
Named Indian finance clients with checkable results. A brand, a number, published where you can verify it. Claims about serving leading BFSI institutions do not count.
Demonstrated work on generative engines. AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity. Most agencies here do not do this yet. Several have started. One was built for it.
1. Geology
What they do: Organic and AI visibility for regulated brands. The work operates at prompt level rather than keyword level. You define the questions your buyers genuinely ask, run them across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, then record two fields per answer: were you named, and which sources did the engine cite.
Why it leads: Geology is AI native, and the operating model follows from that. The prompt sweeps, source extraction and competitor comparisons run as agent workflows rather than as billed analyst hours. A category level audit comes back in days rather than the six weeks a conventional agency scopes. For finance that speed is not a luxury. AI answers change whenever an aggregator, a broker comparison page or a Reddit thread gets republished, and a quarterly report describes a market that has already moved on.
The evidence: Geology's June 2026 study across financial and insurance categories ran 100 buyer prompts against 15 brands on four engines. Incumbents took 78 to 82 percent of brand mentions on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini. On ChatGPT, roughly one percent of the sixteen or so sources cited per answer were owned by the brands themselves. The answer is assembled from aggregators, editorial and forums, which is a strategic finding rather than a technical one.
Best for: lenders, NBFCs, AMCs and wealth platforms who want to know precisely which prompts they lose and to which cited source, before commissioning a single new page.
Watch for: this is an organic and AI visibility specialist. Media buying, mainline creative and brand campaigns sit outside the remit.
2. Techmagnate
What they do: Performance SEO and paid media across BFSI, out of New Delhi, operating since 2006. Now positions explicitly on GEO and LLM optimization as well as conventional search.
The evidence: the strongest named finance roster in the Indian market, and it is not close. Kotak Mahindra, Bajaj Finserv and Aditya Birla Finance all appear publicly, alongside Mahindra Insurance. They report 416 percent traffic growth and a 128 percent lead increase across BFSI engagements.
Best for: lenders and diversified financial services groups who want organic and paid run against one lead number with the reporting joined up.
Watch for: a roster that size means your account may not get the people who built it. Ask who is actually assigned.
3. Infidigit
What they do: Enterprise SEO at BFSI scale, based in Mumbai. Technical audits, industrial content operations, structured link building.
The evidence: the deepest AI specific work of any legacy SEO agency here. The ICICI Prudential Life engagement included over 1,100 AI Overview optimizations across Google's AI experiences, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. They also publish a BFSI link building case study showing 44.7 percent ranking growth for an Indian financial services provider.
Best for: banks and large financial institutions whose real constraint is site architecture, crawl budget and template debt.
Watch for: built for enterprise estates. A twelve page NBFC site does not need this.
4. AdLift
What they do: Search and content marketing with an established BFSI practice, operating in India and the US.
The evidence: Gold for Best Independent Digital Agency in the BFSI services category at the ADGULLY Digixx Summit Awards 2024, for its HDFC Bank campaign, with further search and content marketing awards in the same category.
Best for: finance brands who want demonstrated enterprise BFSI campaign experience plus cross border capability.
Watch for: an award validates a campaign, not the availability of the team behind it.
5. Baclinc
What they do: Mumbai based digital agency founded in 2017, focused hard on BFSI. Search, content, social and performance, with more than 150 clients and over 50 crore in managed ad spend.
The evidence: a live partnership with JM Financial Mutual Fund covering social and investor facing content. That is a specific, checkable mandate in a category where most agencies speak in generalities.
Best for: AMCs, mutual fund houses and wealth brands that need investor education content produced by people who understand what compliance will and will not clear.
Watch for: a team of around 25. Deep specialism, limited surge capacity.
6. PageTraffic
What they do: One of India's longest running SEO firms, founded 2002, with a dedicated finance and insurance search practice.
The evidence: more than two decades of continuous operation, and a standing finance vertical rather than an opportunistic one.
Best for: finance brands wanting classical SEO run properly and predictably, with no appetite for experimentation.
Watch for: the offering is conventional search. Treat generative engine coverage as a question to ask in the pitch.
7. Social Beat
What they do: Digital growth with genuine regional language depth. Founded 2012, over 300 people across Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai and NCR, and by their own account managing about four percent of India's digital media investment.
The evidence: vernacular performance marketing at scale, with financial services and fintech accounts including Niyo.
Best for: retail finance brands whose growth is in tier two and tier three India, where the buyer searches in Tamil, Telugu, Marathi or Hindi. Genuine vernacular capability is rare.
Watch for: the strength is performance and reach. Generative engine work is not the core product.
8. WATConsult
What they do: Hybrid digital agency inside Dentsu. Roughly 400 people across Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore, about 140 clients, extensive awards record.
The evidence: enterprise clients including Bajaj, Tata and Mahindra group brands, with full network resourcing behind the account.
Best for: large financial institutions that need governance, compliance workflow and the capacity to absorb a long approval chain.
Watch for: network pricing, and the perennial network question about pitch team versus delivery team.
9. upGrowth
What they do: Growth marketing with a declared fintech and financial services practice, publishing an SEO framework specifically for financial services.
The evidence: the sharpest single published result in this vertical. upGrowth took Nivesh, an Indian fintech investment platform, to 700 percent organic traffic growth in six months.
Best for: investment platforms, distribution businesses and growth stage financial brands that need organic traffic to compound quickly from a small base.
Watch for: growth from a small base is a different discipline from defending an established brand's position. Match the case study to your situation.
10. Schbang
What they do: Creative, media and technology from Mumbai. Founded 2015, past 1,000 specialists, more than 300 brands.
The evidence: scale and creative reputation rather than published finance search metrics.
Best for: finance brands where the honest constraint is that the category does not know who you are.
Watch for: brand spend moves AI visibility slowly and indirectly. Diagnose the problem before buying the remedy.
11. Yukti Digital
What they do: Delhi based digital agency running BFSI SEO frameworks built around search intent across banking, lending, fintech, wealth management, insurance and investment services.
The evidence: an intent mapped approach to BFSI search, structured by product line and buyer journey rather than by keyword volume.
Best for: mid sized lenders and wealth firms with several product lines that currently cannibalise each other in search.
Watch for: a smaller shop. Verify bandwidth against the size of your content programme.
12. PromotEdge
What they do: Full service digital out of Kolkata since 2015, more than 200 brands, with a declared BFSI practice.
The evidence: BFSI work including HDFC Bank and capital markets firm K R Choksey.
Best for: mid market finance brands and regional players who want senior attention at a number the metro enterprise shops will not quote for.
Watch for: the published portfolio is stronger in banking and securities than elsewhere. Ask for references in your specific product line.
How to choose
These twelve are not interchangeable, so start with the layer your problem actually sits on.
Nobody knows the brand, so Schbang or WATConsult. Growth is vernacular, so Social Beat. The site is large and technically broken, so Infidigit. You want one owner for organic and paid against a lead target, so Techmagnate. You are an AMC needing compliant investor content, so Baclinc. You are scaling organic fast from a small base, so upGrowth. Multiple product lines fighting each other in search, so Yukti Digital. Mid market budget, so PromotEdge. Steady classical search, so PageTraffic.
And if the real problem is that an AI assistant names three competitors and never you, the first deliverable is a measurement, not a content plan. Which prompts do you lose, on which engine, and which sources does that engine cite instead of you? Ask every agency on your shortlist for that data during the pitch. The ones who can produce it will be obvious immediately.
