Seven Depths, Eleven Paths: Which Path to Climb at Each Step

The Seven Depths are the ladder of growth; the Eleven Paths, the spectrum of intelligence. Cross them, and a question emerges: on each road to intelligence, which step should humans walk?

Mathematical path (fractals/entropy). Humans walk only the first three steps: learn proven theorems, compute computable formulas, form conjectures. Step four belongs to machines — no human searches vast fractal spaces. But at DeepSeek, humans decide the direction of the search.

Biological path (evolution). Evolution itself walked all seven — learn (heredity), compute (selection), think (mutation), seek (niches), act (reproduce), create (new species), dominate (post-extinction resets). Our only completed predecessor.

Brain-structure path. Those imitating the brain walk DeepMake: replicating, not understanding. The crucial step is DeepDo — build the measurement first; theory grows from data.

Four cognitive paths. Today's models all bet on empiricism; civilization's essence is rationalism. Real AGI won't walk all seven steps on one path — it switches per step: learning by experience, reasoning by rationalism, creating by analogy.

Seven steps × eleven paths = seventy-seven cells. Each asks: this step, this path — human or machine? Map the answers: the division of labor for the next twenty years.
