The Ontological Diagonal: Relation x Potential Is the Scarcest Cell

The matrix of existence is 3x3: three modes (doing, thinking, connecting) x three layers (entity, relation, potential). Nine cells hold every style of being.

The entity row is most crowded: matter, bodies, tools. The relation row is heating up: markets, networks, platforms. The potential row is emptiest: unrealized possibility, untriggered states, waiting seeds.

The truly scarce cells form the diagonal: doing x entity (oldest), thinking x relation (happening now), connecting x potential (almost no one).

Connecting-potential is becoming the medium of what has not yet happened: investors betting on futures, educators waking seeds, founders linking demand to possibility.

That cell is scarce not because it is hard but because it has no payroll. Doing-entity earns wages; thinking-relation earns degrees; connecting-potential pays only in after-the-fact equity.

Yet every technological leap lowers its cost: the internet made connection free; AI is making the recognition of potential cheap. When that cell crowds up, the world's output exponentiates again.

Which of the nine cells are you in? The last empty seat on the diagonal is still open.
