Run it on your own GPU. No quantum hardware required.
The Open Quantum Challenge is a vendor neutral, fully reproducible benchmark for quantum computing methods. You download a frozen problem, solve it with any method on your GPU, and submit a prediction file. A private answer key scores every entry the same way, so the ranking is reproducible and independent of hardware.
Two seasons, $1,000 prize each
Season 1 is Quantum Simulation. Report the ground state energy of Fermi Hubbard systems (chains, ladders, plaquettes). Scored by mean absolute error against exact diagonalization. Deadline 28 February 2027.
Season 2 is QEC Decoder. Decode a frozen rotated surface code dataset (distance 5, p = 0.005, circuit level noise). Scored by logical error rate. Deadline 31 March 2027.
Prize per season: first $600, second $300, third $100.
How to enter
- Get the public inputs: FINAL-Bench/oqc-data on Hugging Face.
- Solve on your GPU. A reference harness is at github.com/final-bench/quantum-bench-harness.
- Sign in with Hugging Face on the challenge Space and submit your prediction JSON.
Your entry is auto scored within minutes and appears on the live leaderboard under your Hugging Face profile. Answers stay private, the harness and frozen problems are public, and the ladder is the same for everyone.
