I built a Mac app that blocks the parts of YouTube and Reddit that eat your day

I kept losing time to the same stuff over and over:

  • YouTube Home
  • Shorts
  • X For You
  • Reddit front pages

So I built Monk Mode, a Mac app that blocks the feed, not the whole site.

That matters because a lot of distraction tools go too broad. I still want YouTube for tutorials and Reddit for specific threads. I just do not want the infinite scroll traps.

Monk Mode blocks:

  • YouTube Home
  • YouTube Shorts
  • X For You
  • Reddit front pages
  • other feed-style distractions

It is a one-time $15 lifetime app.

If you are trying to protect deep work on a Mac, this is for you:

I would genuinely love feedback from people who have tried to fix doomscrolling with blockers and still found the edges too blunt.
