Hm. I don’t think that not being passionate about programming (or anything else) automatically makes you a mediocre person/programmer. Yes, there are ways in which passion can fuel your career growth but there are also ways in which passion can be slowing you down, whether career-wise or in other aspects of your life. I think it’s a false dichotomy and one that sadly stops a lot of talented minds from joining the ranks of software developers.
I work as a Salesforce Developer. I have been programming since I was 9, I like Javascript, Python and Game Development. I write articles in dev.to too!
