As a front-end developer, can you do mockup and UX/UI design? I want this to be clarify because some of front-end developer I know think that it's not their job.

I think it's important to know the boundaries and limitations of the scope of your role, but I think the design and development worlds are a series of large Venn Diagrams where there are a lot of overlaps depending on where you sit within your role.

But either way, I think it's useful to have at least some level of knowledge and understanding of UX, UI design, and wireframing/mockups, both the tools involved and the processes.

At the end of the day, design, UX/UI work and mockups/wireframes are all different means of communicating ideas. The more understanding you have, the easier you'll be able to communicate with your team, your users, etc.
