Introducing AWS to 600+ Freshers at My Campus

What happens when you get the opportunity to introduce hundreds of students to a technology ecosystem you're passionate about?

For me, it was an opportunity to represent the AWS Student Builders community at my campus and introduce 600+ freshers to AWS, AWS Builder Center, and the opportunities available to student builders.

It was a memorable experience, and one that reminded me why sharing knowledge and building technical communities matter.

☁️ Introducing Students to the AWS Ecosystem

During the session, I introduced students to the AWS ecosystem, including AWS Builder Center, its tools, learning resources, and the wider AWS community.

We explored how students can get involved in the community and start building their technical skills, even at the beginning of their engineering journey.

Some of the opportunities we discussed included:

📚 Learning cloud technologies through hands-on experiences.

🛠️ Building projects and experimenting with AWS tools.

🤝 Connecting with developers and fellow builders.

🎯 Participating in workshops, challenges, and community events.

🌐 Sharing projects, showcasing work, and learning from the wider developer community.

The goal was to help freshers understand that technology is not just about attending classes or learning theory. It's also about building, experimenting, collaborating, and sharing what you learn.

🎤 More Than an Orientation Session

Standing in front of 600+ freshers and introducing a community that I genuinely enjoy being part of was a special experience.

Every student begins their engineering journey with different interests and ambitions. My hope is that some of them will discover new opportunities through AWS Builder Center, start experimenting with cloud technologies, and eventually become active members of the builder community themselves.

For me, this was more than just another campus session. It was an opportunity to help students take their first steps toward becoming builders.

🧥 The AWS Builders Jacket Has a Story!

And yes, you might have noticed the AWS Builders jacket. 👀

There's a story behind how I got it and why it is particularly special to me. It is associated with a limited distribution within the AWS Builders ecosystem.

I'll share that journey in a separate article soon. 🔥

🌱 Build. Learn. Connect. Share. Repeat.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the AWS community and introduce more students to the possibilities available through AWS Builder Center.

I look forward to seeing more students move from learning about technology to actually building with it.

The next generation of builders starts by taking the first step.
