Apple unveils HomeView, a $299 home control display

Apple’s HomeView combines a 7-inch square display with an A18 processor for smart-home control.

Its HomeView 27.2 software can tailor displayed apps and information to the person in front of the device, with support for up to six people per home.

Setup requires an iPhone running iOS 27.2 or an iPad with iPadOS 27.2.

The HomeView screen

The HomeView has a 7-inch square Liquid Retina display. It will be sold in a countertop version and a wall-mounted version, both priced at $299. The countertop version will be available in silver, Starlight, pink, and Space Gray, while the wall-mounted version will only be available in silver or Space Gray.

The device's software adapts the apps and information it displays based on the person in front of it. Up to six people per home can use it. According to Apple, each user's personal content remains private from the others. Shared photo albums and music are available to everyone in the home, as well as guests.

HomeView integrates Siri and Apple Intelligence. It can also connect to an iPhone or iPad and display information from them, such as Apple Music playlists and results from Messages or Calendar.

The countertop version has a more sophisticated sound system, while the wall-mounted version has two speakers. Both versions support spatial audio and Dolby Atmos for select content, and feature a 12-megapixel camera for FaceTime and Center Stage mode. To set up HomeView, you need an iPhone with iOS 27.2 or an iPad with iPadOS 27.2.

Schneider Home also has the Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector, which costs $59,95, and the Power Mount AC Wired, which costs $79,95. The Power Mount PoE Wired will cost $129,95 and is expected in early 2027.

The nine devices for the home

The Apple Home Collection includes nine devices from LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, which will be sold through Apple. They are expected to be released from December 2026 onwards, with some arriving in 2027.

The LG Video Doorbell costs $249,95 and features two cameras: a 2,5K resolution for visitors and a Full HD one for packages. It also has a light and doorbell that work with Apple devices.

For outdoor surveillance, LG offers the Floodlight Cam for $399,95 and the Outdoor Cam for $299,95. The former has two lights that turn on when motion is detected and can record color video at night, even in low light. The Outdoor Cam doesn't have an external light.

The LG Indoor Cam costs $199,95 and automatically detects when users return home. All three LG cameras have their own storage and keep video of events for 10 days. To view this history or use additional features, such as event summaries, an iCloud+ subscription is required.

The LG Smart Deadbolt Lock costs $349,95. It connects to an iPhone or Apple Watch and can unlock the door when the user approaches. It has a numeric keypad and a hidden slot for a spare key. According to Apple, the lock and doorbell work together in the Home app. So the user can see who is at the door and unlock it from the same screen or by asking Siri.

The two thermostats, the LG Smart Thermostat and the Schneider Home Smart Thermostat, cost $199,95 each. The Adaptive Temperature feature takes into account whether someone is home. The LG Temperature Sensor and the Schneider Home Room Sensor cost $39,95 each.
