Kaspersky analyzed over 150,000 simulated phishing emails across 120 countries between January and September 2026 using data from its security awareness platform.
The findings detail which thematic lures, including AI presentations and health audits, yielded the highest click rates in training simulations.
The process was based on the Kaspersky Automated Security Awareness Platform tool, through which administrators conduct unannounced tests to measure how easily employees follow deceptive links. It is noted that the findings relate exclusively to educational simulations and not to actual incidents of system breaches.
In the technology and artificial intelligence sector, a message titled “Introducing the next generation of artificial intelligence” garnered a 45% click-through rate, demonstrating that interest in current developments often works as a trap. Health and insurance messages also had significant impact with an average rate of 28%, while in one specific test on the topic of a health check-up report the rate reached 92%.
Similarly, IT policies and internal regulations had an average click-through rate of 26%, which rose to 48% in a simulation that required approval. In the offers, gifts and tickets category, the average rate was 24%, with a test inspired by the FIFA World Cup recording a rate of 66%.
