Enough phone: A new small smartphone is seeking funding to hit the market

Enough phone is a proposed 5.3-inch handset with a planned MediaTek Dimensity 7500, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage, a 1,520 × 720 LCD and a removable 3,500 mAh battery.

Its Kickstarter campaign has a $250,000 goal; the prototype built so far is not functional.

Features and design

The device has a 5,3-inch display, a size that the creators consider more convenient compared to typical modern phones, which usually have screens of 6,1 to 6,3 inches. The goal is to create a phone for basic everyday tasks, such as messaging, navigating with maps, taking photos and playing music.

Although the team has built a prototype, it is not yet operational. The technical features they aim to incorporate include:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 7500 processor.
  • 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
  • LCD screen with 1.520 x 720 resolution.
  • Removable 3.500 mAh battery.

Additionally, the team plans to support the device with software updates until 2032.

Availability and cost

The campaign has set a goal of raising $250.000. The planned retail price for the phone is $599, but those who support the effort at the beginning of the campaign can get a device for $399. The first model is scheduled to be released in May 2027.

Who is behind the project?

The creators involved have previous experience in the space: Austin Boer runs the company Dumbwireless, while Brennan Jordan and William Stults lead the company Sleke. The latter is responsible for OdysseyOS, an operating system based on Android but without Google services or a web browser.
