inDrive partners with and Nvidia to deploy Gen-7 robotaxis in Astana, Kazakhstan, by early 2027.

The integration relies on Nvidia's Hyperion AI platform and Halos safety systems, managed directly through the inDrive application with initial safety drivers.

Initially, the vehicles will be driven by a safety driver, with the ultimate goal of completely eliminating the driver. Pony.ai will provide the seventh-generation vehicles, which will be managed by inDrive through its app. Nvidia will provide the artificial intelligence technology, providing the Hyperion platform and the Halos safety system.

InDrive chief technology officer Yuri Misnik confirmed the testing schedule. Astana, with a population of around 1,7 million, faces difficult winter conditions with snow and ice. Kazakhstan had announced plans in September to launch autonomous taxi services in three cities by 2027.

At the same time, Pony.ai aims to have more than 3.500 robo-taxis in over 20 cities worldwide by the end of 2026. For its part, inDrive has signed a separate agreement in Saudi Arabia with the AI Driver company for the development of WeRide's autonomous vehicles.
