- Sign in to the Azure Portal (https://portal.azure.com/). If you don't have an account, you can create a free account to access the Azure Free Trial.
- Click on the "Create a resource" button highlighted in red and located in the top menu.
- In the "New" tab, you will SEE Virtual Machine menu, now click on CREATE
- Be sure you are on the "Create Virtual Machine Tab"
- Configure the virtual machine's basics:
* Choose or create a new resource group.
* Enter a unique name for your VM in the "Virtual machine name" field.
* Select the desired region from the "Location" dropdown.
* Choose the desired size for your VM from the "Size" dropdown.
- Set up the administration credentials for your VM.
- Provide a username for the administrator account.
- Create a strong password or choose to use SSH public key authentication.
Configure the virtual machine's inbound ports by adding rules to the Network Security Group (NSG). This step is crucial for remote access to your VM.
Review and create the virtual machine by clicking on the "Review + create" button. Once the validation is successful, click on "Create" to deploy your VM.
- Wait for the deployment to complete. This process may take several minutes. You can track the progress in the "Notifications" section of the portal.
- After the VM is fully deployed, click on "Go to resource" to navigate to the VM's overview page.
- On the VM's overview page, select "Connect" from the left-hand side menu. This will provide you with an RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol) file to connect to your Windows 11 Pro VM.
- Download the RDP file and open it using the Remote Desktop Connection client on your local machine.
- Enter the administrator credentials you set up during the VM configuration process and click "Connect."
- You should now be connected to your Windows 11 Pro.
I am optimistic this step by step approach will serve the purpose of helping you to create your Windows 11 pro VM using Microsoft Azure.
