The reason is that I have never used a NAS before. Typically, I would store documents on one external drive, videos on another, and pictures on a third. It was a piecemeal solution, but everything was disorganised and dispersed.
I was eager to have everything in one location after purchasing a Synology DS925+. I assumed it would be a difficult task, but it was actually quite easy. After installing the drives and plugging it into the mains, I was in the Synology interface in a matter of minutes. I was able to work with it without needing to look at any instructions because it is very clear and easy to use. It just made sense.
Its silence was the first shock I had to endure. When it is moving large files, it hardly makes any sounds. It is slim and well-made, and it doesn't take up much room on my table. Additionally, it has two LAN ports that give me a steady and quick connection, and it supports five drive bays, which allows me to have more storage. I can tell that the parts are difficult.
I initially used it for the most basic tasks, such as protecting my laptop's data and storing my pictures and other important documents. Two days later, I did some more research. I built a plex server because I love movies and have a lot of them. This was even more intriguing. I put my collection of films on the NAS and configured it to stream within my home network. I can now watch any movie on my tablet, phone, or TV. It seems to be my personal streaming service, loads quickly, and runs smoothly. As I would, without advertisements or other distractions.
As time passed, I became aware of the many uses for this small box. It does more than just store data; it functions as though I were living in my own personal cloud. Everywhere I go, I can access files, share files securely, and create automatic backups that run on their own. It is reliable and grants me controls over my data, which is hard to find. The acting is superb. I can stream in 4K, drop massive-sized folders, and charge my phone and it does not slow or get hot. It stays cool and steady. This makes me very relaxed because I do not need to worry whether my information is safe.
I have also used Synology applications. Sorting photos is made easier by the photo manager, and I can easily look through, create, and move files with the help of the file station. I would prefer it because it lets me add things to the system over time, and I might always find something I want to try out if I want to learn something. It is such that it can be obtained without conscious thought. I knew nothing about NAS systems prior to that. Additionally, I now know how to manage backups, stream data between devices, and work with network storage. I discover something new there every week, which only deepens my love for it.
To make handling easier, it is even totalled. I don't need to monitor it and adjust the settings. It also carries out its function in the background in silence. Whether you're using it to watch movies, secure files, or just save work documents, it always does the job. When someone is using NAS for the first time, the Synology DS925+ is a good place to start. It is easy to use and robust enough to grow with you as you gain comfort. Installing it, playing it, and enjoying it don't require technical expertise.
In retrospect, I never imagined it would play such a significant role in my daily existence. I don't even realise it anymore because it has become so connected to me. My job is not too complicated, my leisure is complete, and my details are safe. In summary, the Synology DS925+ has also simplified, simplified, and enhanced the enjoyment of my digital life. All of those items, which have never been there before, are acceptable, and it is comforting to know that they are secure in my care. It is a part of my life and not just a tool.
