The developers reported that on September 30, 2025, the number of Brave browser users surpassed the 100 million monthly active users (MAU) mark worldwide, including PC and mobile versions.
Along with this, there was an increase in the number of daily active users to 42 million, which, according to the developers, indicates high engagement.
Brendan Eich, CEO and co-founder of Brave, stated that this is not just an achievement, but part of a movement towards a 'more private web' where users, not big tech companies, control their data.
Over the past two years, the number of Brave users has grown by an average of 2.5 million per month. In the EU, following the introduction of the 'browser choice' rule and the release of iOS 17.4, the number of daily Brave installations on iOS increased by 50%.
Brave Search — Brave's own independent search engine — is also showing rapid growth: about 1.6 billion queries per month, which is equivalent to almost 20 billion queries per year. More than 50 million daily queries are served through Brave Search with its built-in AI.
Brave positions itself not just as a browser, but as a private super-app that combines:
- Brave Shields — built-in protection on all pages;
- Brave Search — a search engine that works without user profiling;
- Brave Leo — an integrated AI assistant that does not store chat history or use it for model training;
- Brave VPN — allows you to hide your IP address and protect traffic even in applications outside the browser;
- Brave Wallet — a built-in Web3 wallet that works without third-party plugins.
In addition, the company is developing Brave Ads — an advertising platform with a focus on privacy and without user identity tracking. Brave already collaborates with major brands like Amazon, Ford, Intuit, and others. The company provides the Brave Search API — an external API that opens up possibilities for using the Brave index in chatbots, applications, and AI systems. Up to 2,000 queries per month are available for free, and there are also paid plans. Finally, customers have access to the Brave Premium subscription, which offers improved Leo limits, ad-free search, enhanced Brave VPN features, and much more.
Previously, Brave announced the addition of a new feature to its AI search engine, Ask Brave, which allows users to get detailed answers on the topic of their query. It will work in parallel with AI Answers. This option was introduced last year and provides summarized answers to search queries. The company stated that users receive more than 15 million answers every day thanks to the tool.
In the summer, the Brave browser began blocking Microsoft's AI-based Recall feature, which creates screenshots of the user's computer activity. Brave blocks the option by default.
