Legacy stuff yes, when I'm being lazy I generally opt for dropping in Vue from a CDN link and working from that. It's re-work but tidies up a lot of the jquery spaghetti into some structure and makes things a bit more data driven with reactivity (personal preference). I actually think this is one of the major benefits to Vue which is generally overlooked.
