API response codes poem

In the world of tech, there’s a curious thing,
Called API requests that make devices sing.
They’re like little messages that devices send,
To get a response from their API friend.

API requests are like a note,
Sent to an API with a hopeful mote.
They can ask for data or do some work,
And wait for a response, like a playful quirk.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

But sometimes the API friend may say,
“I cannot do as you request today”.
And send a response with a special code,
To let the device know what’s on the road.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

Response codes are like a language too,
And help devices know what to do.
There’s 200 for success, and 400 for bad,
And 500 for errors, that makes devices sad.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

With response codes, the devices know,
If their requests are a friend or foe.
They can take action based on the code,
And keep the tech world in a secure mode.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

So next time you send an API request,
And wait for a response with bated breath,
Remember that codes are the language that speak,
And help devices find what they seek.

— — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — —

API requests and response codes together,
Are the backbone of tech’s forever.
They help devices connect and communicate,
And make our world a much better state.
