I think this is dependent on the usecases as well. For example my mother has been using kubuntu for years now and she has no problems with it. 🙂 Of course her usecases are very simple.

Exactly. Just casual internet browsing and occasional movie watching. :) By the way it is a Kubuntu 16.04 (if I correctly remember :D)
