GPU-s mentioned are just an illustration but can be anything as long as one has more cores of anykind/ higher memory bandwith that can be capped.
I have been wondering about heat output of mobile GPU-s. Most laptops seem to be performance limited by cooling. So today I found myself wondering how to get the most performance out of such a system. And if you constantly run the thing at 80-90 degrees gaming that cant be too good if u want to keep the thing for a while.
So I have been thinking of getting a new laptop and I started to wonder if I should get one that has top of the line GPU in it even if the laptop cant run it at 100%.
Given 2 identical laptops. One has lets say 1650 in it and the other has 2080.
Shader Processing Units= 896 vs 2944
Texture Mapping Units= 56 vs 184
Render Output Units= 32 vs 64
So for the same performance you can undervolt+underclock the GPU a lot more and in total should generate much less heat.
Now what I have been trying to figure out if that is even true and if it is then how much is the differnace.
