My suggestion is that, Switch to Linux only if you want to learn about that OS. One wouldn't just leave all the comfort of windows just for theming purposes 🙃
For that shell experience you can use mobaxterm,git bash or something else on windows. I personally find mobaxterm to be best in terms of providing Unix shell experience

I switch to Linux because of the glorious UNIX shell. I do know WSL exists but it has given me a lot of issues. ( nothing major just performance )

I completely forgot one more option - WSL
I haven't used it on hdd since I've switched to SSD. On ssd it's performance is really nice.
