Every time I've moved — across cities, across countries — the hardest part was never the packing. It was the admin. The deadlines. The "did anyone remember to schedule the Anmeldung?" panic at 11pm.
My partner and I would share a Google Sheet. It would fall out of sync within a day. Tasks got duplicated, missed, or silently abandoned. Moving is already stressful enough without your checklist being its own source of stress.
So I built MoveMate.
What it does 🚛
MoveMate is a moving planner that adapts to your specific relocation route:
- checklists — Your move from Mumbai to Munich has different steps than Berlin to Barcelona. The app knows the difference.
- Smart deadlines — Tasks auto-anchor to your move date so nothing slips. Anmeldung within 14 days? You'll get reminded at the right time.
- Family sync — Share via QR code, everyone stays on the same page. No more "I thought you booked the movers."
- Offline-first — Works in the moving truck, not just on Wi-Fi. Syncs when you're back online.
- No subscription — $2.99 once, move forever. No ads.
Why offline-first? 📡
Because the moment you need your checklist most — standing in an empty apartment, waiting for the internet guy who's "between 8am and 6pm" — is exactly when you have no signal. The app stores everything locally and syncs in the background.
What's next 🗺️
Launching with EN + DE at first, with France, Spain, Portugal, and the India→EU corridors coming in the next phases. Each country will get its own task templates with the actual admin steps, deadlines, and paperwork you need.

MoveMate is live on both stores:

If you've got a move coming up — or even if you just want to poke around — I'd love your honest feedback. Reviews especially help a solo dev more than you'd think. ⭐
And if you've ever moved internationally, I'm curious: what's the one task everyone forgets? Drop it in the comments — I'll make sure it's in the next checklist. 💬
