When I first think about IoT, I usually think about the device.
A sensor measures something.
Done, right?
Not really.
The interesting part starts after the sensor collects the data.
You might have something like:
Sensor
↓
Device
↓
Network
↓
MQTT / HTTP
↓
Backend
↓
Database
↓
Analytics
↓
Dashboard
And every arrow in that diagram can become a problem.
What happens if the device goes offline?
What if the same message arrives twice?
What if the sensor sends a completely unrealistic value?
What if 10,000 devices start sending data at the same time?
That's why I think of IoT less as "connecting devices" and more as building a reliable data pipeline between the physical world and software.
The sensor is just the beginning.
