I'm American so have those things, but been living overseas for almost 20 years and run into similar problems with both U.S. and domestic services.
I could make a gigantic list of grievances, but things have gotten better the last 10 years (or maybe I've just gotten used to it). For small companies I can understand, they lack the experience/knowledge and often didn't even develop parts of their platform. For large companies I can't really devise excuses- lack of demand or fear/cost associated with legacy systems, I suppose. Amazon/AWS and Google are surprising given their global footprint.
Don't take it too seriously, I've got Netflix and you're not missing much. 😂
See, that I can totally understand. When our company needed to sign up for Aliyun (like AWS) I had to get our technical director to do it because it wouldn't accept my foreigner info.
Interestingly, I'm the opposite when it comes to debit vs credit cards. If something is going to get stolen I'd rather it be my credit card where I can dispute the transaction, easily freeze the account, or use a temporary, one-time number (some banks also provide this). I never let anyone close to my bank account.
Pay it off every month and it's more like "buffer" than debt. 😎
Yes, but I have a separate bank account for expenses that hardly has any money in it except for when I have to spend, and I never get charged unless I authenticate the payment with password and OTP. I'm so used to that, and so the concept of someone being able to draw money from me with just my card number is so alarming.
For further actions, you may consider blocking this person and/or reporting abuse

Haha... I got added to family Netflix plan and realized I'm not missing much. As a developer, my major pain point has been cloud services
