On February 2, 2021 Atlassian carried out 3 actions that radically changed its service map:
- Ends the sale of licenses for its products in Server mode.
- Ends the development of new features for Server products.
- The sale of the applications that now come natively in the Data center (Advanced roadmaps, Team Calendars, Insight, etc.) for Server products ends.
End of Life applies to the following products:
-Jira Software Server
-Jira CoreServer
-Jira Service Management Server
-ConfluenceServer
-BitbucketServer
-CrowdServer
-BambooServer
-Server applications created by Atlassian
The goal is that on February 15, 2024, support for all Server-type tools will end and that the Atlassian ecosystem will be integrated only by Cloud and Data Center products.
What does this change imply?
This means that all organizations that have Atlassian suite tools in their server version must start planning the migration of their systems before February 15, 2024 if they want to continue to have some type of support.
The migration of systems between platforms is a process that requires a good initial analysis in order to define the appropriate migration strategy, its technical feasibility and its costs.
Cloud migration process
Taking this process into account, each stage is essential and must be treated carefully to avoid inconveniences or surprises when migrating.
The points to survey and analyze will vary according to the level of customization of the platform, the number of addons installed and the size of what is built in the tool.
How do I start this process?
The analysis, especially in the initial steps, is key to avoid problems in the migration, which is why we must consult all the documentation of the migration center.
Although it is a process that can be started from scratch, it is always convenient to have an expert in the Atlassian Suite who can guide us through the different steps and who has experience in the common problems and limitations that may appear during the process.
