I personally dislike Leetcode, probably even hate it, I can understand its intended purpose but I would rather invest my time learning real programming skills
I feel that most people disagree with that, whenever I mention it in websites like Reddit I get downvoted a lot

Well, Reddit downvotes are often related to hitting a point.
Or hitting a nerve. Completely benign statements can get dogpiled for that reason.
