Designing a Laptop Stand Using SelfCAD’s AI Assistant

Designing a Laptop Stand Using SelfCAD’s AI Assistant
In this tutorial, we’ll explore how to design a 3D laptop stand using SelfCAD’s AI Assistant. We’ll describe the stand’s shape and features in a simple text prompt and see how the AI turns the idea into a 3D model.

Once you launch the editor, click on AI modeling on the Toolbar as shown below;

The highlighted box indicates where we input our prompt

The assistant feedback suggests the elements that will be included in the model; Once we’ve reviewed them, we click Prepare parts

The window shows the dimensions of the model, and since we will be including all the elements, we click on Generate Elements

Beside each element in this process, you’ll see the ‘Creating’ sign. Wait until all the elements have finished generating and the sign turns to ‘Ready’. Click ‘Assemble Model’

You can review all the individual elements. Once they’re okay, click on Preview Assembly to see how the model turned out.

This is how our model turned out. We will click ‘Add to Scene’ to add it to our catalog and make any modifications we would like to the model
