BTCPay is excellent if you will patch it, back it up, and own the outage. Hosted invoicing is excellent if you will not. Mixing them in a feature table without ops cost is dishonest.

BTCPay

You hold keys (if you configured it that way). You run the server. Lightning is there if you do the work. Multi-chain beyond Bitcoin is not the same product.

Hosted non-custodial invoicing

Someone else runs watchers and the pay page. You still hold settlement keys if the design is real. If they hold keys, you did not buy BTCPay-with-a-theme; you bought a processor.

Settlematic Collect is hosted, invoice-scoped, watch-only, multi-chain invoicing — not a BTCPay replacement for Lightning maximalists, not a custodial BitPay clone.

Canonical: BTCPay Server vs hosted crypto invoicing. settlematic.com
