I have never turned off my socials / phone sound / phone internet while working.
I am just about to start doing so. Whatβs your take?

Sure! I quit every social media except from instagram, which I don't really use except when a colleague sends me a meme.
Only thing I keep open is Whatsapp in other screen and without notifications or sound. My phone is always in "do not disturb" mode.
Even if you don't get distracted easily, having notification noises and prompts leads your eyes to the origin of that sound, being your smartphone or a notification prompt.
"leads your eyes to the origin of that sound"
^ This is exactly what I want to get rid of!
Then keep only the social networks you already use for any reason, do the exercise...
I was like hey I've a facebook account which I don't visit since 4 years ago so... fk off, there's twitter which I get nervous every time I enter to read something by the amount of sillyness and stupidity I face off there... fk off as well, there's instagram... hmm meme source when following the right accounts so it stays and 9gag which is a must. Also linkedIn but we're developers so we should have it just for market study (about our own value) and job changing purposes. So it stay.
At this point set your phone and computer to do not disturb so no sound or prompts will annoy you and use the remaining social networks only when you like, not when you are summoned to by a notification π
Only thing I keep on are calls (vibration, no sound) because you know, there's a social contract about a call meaning something urgent is happening right now, while the rest is something that can wait.
It depends, most of the time I have a the "focus" mode turned on (which basically disables the apps I've previously selected, so that I can't open them or receive notifications).
It is scheduled from 8am to 5am, but I sometimes disable it when I need a break, and I might forget to turn it back on. And, generally speaking, I tend to be too much focused on my work to be distracted by socials (I love my job <3), though it can happen.
Now if you think about turning socials off, give it a try! You could become addicted to the focus gain you might have. π
Pumpy response! Yeah, I don't really have much socials but as another comment mentioned:
I personally I try to do short 25 minutes pomodoro sessions with no distractions. Then take 5 mins brakes.
Pomodoro might be a good idea. I only tried a few times but didn't really gave a lot of weight to it.
No, because it don't disturb me so much.
It might be a good idea if you get distracted very easily.
But if you don't then there's no point in doing that.
Logically speaking - yes. Practically speaking - it doesn't work, haha. I admire people who manage to 100% disable any surrounding noise / visual.
Yes. I do
