I know that I am better suited to be a developer than a manager. Becoming a manager would just validate the Peter principle ("Everyone is ultimately promoted to the maximum of their personal incompetence"). Sure, I would have a chance to promote diversity more effectively, but I'd rather do that from a position where I am still capable of contributing my competence rather than my incompetence.
There are still things one can do for minorities in development even as a developer:
mentoring those people (not only in coding but also in seeing their value so that they don't undersell themselves)
networking with people helps a lot in development, just help to keep them in the loop
most companies are always searching good developers, so work with HR to get those people hired, there might even be a bonus for you
So go forth and empower people!
For further actions, you may consider blocking this person and/or reporting abuse
We're a place where coders share, stay up-to-date and grow their careers.
