TL;DR: I'm a Brazilian software engineer with 8 years of experience who recently started a personal project and decided to share the lessons learned along the way.
A little bit about my journey: I began my career with a 1-year internship at a telecommunications company. Then, I worked for 2 years at a startup, where I experienced a fast-paced and dynamic culture. For the past 5 years, I've been working at a fintech.
Throughout these years, I've started several personal projects but never managed to stick with any of them. However, this year feels different—I’ve finally been able to keep one project going! That’s why I decided to share what I’ve been learning during this process.
About the project: I’ve always loved reading, but I’ve struggled to find a good app to track my reading habits. While there are some options available, many lack mobile-friendly designs or simply don’t meet my expectations. So, I decided to create my own app as a hobby.
The idea is simple: develop something without pressure or expectations, keeping it as a fun hobby. It’s possible that I might abandon the project at some point, but it’s a topic that really interests me and has motivated me to keep working on it in my free time. Plus, I’m learning so much along the way.
