The Impact of Startups on Innovation and Society

Many people view startups as companies solely focused on going viral or securing investments. However, in reality, numerous significant changes in our lives today originated from small startups with lean teams and ideas initially considered unconventional. A substantial portion of innovation in AI, fintech, healthcare, education, and automation emerged from this ecosystem. Unlike large corporations, which often take months to implement changes, startups can test, fail, learn, and evolve within weeks. Notably, successful startups address real problems, such as reducing bureaucracy, facilitating access to education, improving medical care, automating repetitive tasks, and democratizing previously inaccessible tools. The culture of construction in startups is also admirable, as it involves creating something relevant from scratch without a guarantee of success, requiring creativity, speed, and courage. While there is hype and exaggeration in the market, and not every startup will become a giant, even those that fail contribute to pushing technology and behavior forward. It is now difficult to imagine a world without things that began as small startups, such as transportation apps, digital payments, cloud computing, generative AI, modern delivery, and remote work. Ultimately, tech startups accelerate innovation in a way that traditional companies rarely can, directly impacting how we work, learn, consume, and communicate. I would like to hear your opinion: what recent startup or technology do you think has truly changed the game?
