I’ve been working on a toast library for React as a Sonner alternative. Sonner is great, I just wanted to see how far I could push the feel of it. Notifications here are pill-shaped and expand and collapse a bit like the Dynamic Island, with stacking, blur transitions and a progress ring for auto-dismiss. The API is close to what you’d expect: toast.success(“Saved”), or toast.error({ title, message, duration }).
It’s still early (0.1.0). If you watch the video closely you’ll spot a small bug. I know about it and I’m fixing it before release.
A few things I’m curious about:
Would you actually use something like this next to or instead of Sonner?
Is the island style too much for a toast, or does it work?
What’s the one feature you’d need before switching? Swipe to dismiss, promise toasts, action buttons?
Happy to hear anything, including this is unnecessary.
