There are so many really cool series going on at DEV, I was wondering if it's possible? Would the best way to subscribe be to follow the author or is there a way to subscribe to just the series? So that we can get a notification when they publish a new post in their series?

Currently, there is no way to follow just a series you have to follow the user but it's worth making a feature request.
I would also probably reference this issue as a good place to put a "Follow Series" button.
