Where do you find your testers?

I'm in need of some testers for edge-busting code, so I was wondering: Where do you find your testers for betas?

Either you recruit them and have a live session or use those crowdsourced testing platforms like usertesting.com.

Recruiting involves targeting your intended audience on forums, websites or social networks. Leverage your personal network too.

I favor a live session because you can observe what they are doing and respond to feedback immediately. Also, have some sort of test plan/agenda for them to follow.
