The Council of the EU's 29 June 2026 approval of the Digital Omnibus defers the AI Act's high-risk deadlines to December 2027 and August 2028, but the duty to prove what your AI did survives intact. We explain why auditable, sovereign AI is built now, not retrofitted later.
