With the number of daily activities that require personal information,
the chances of undesirable outcomes associated with the owner and the information itself elevate if we do not practice precautionary measures. Primarily, we are at risk from people with malign intents which can be present at any medium, whether in physical or cyber-related activities. Commonly, with companies collecting user's personal information, they hold a large sum of information which is enticing enough for professional hackers to break into. Nevertheless, the risk is not only from the third party. There are instances that companies require the users to agree in terms and conditions which hold the company's rights over the information flowing in and out of their service. With that, they pose the same threat. Most importantly, if the company was not able to safeguard the information, all of the users will be exposed to the risk of their information being misused.
