Fixed mindset refers to the belief that impactful learning is based on innate ability. People with fixed mindsets believe that basic abilities, intelligence, and talent are fixed traits that you are born with. In practice, this belief is flawed and limits one's ability to learn new concepts, skills, and behaviors.
Growth mindset, instead, refers to the belief that impactful learning results from hard work, training, and practice. There is progression to someone’s ability based on how much time and effort they invest in it. Talents and abilities can be developed through effort and persistence, no matter where you start.
