πŸš€ Going Up β€” Launching Mohab.dev, a Caffeine-Fueled Backend Playground

Hello DEV.To friends! I’m Mohab Abd El-Dayem, backend engineer at MaxAB by day, curious tinkerer by night. After years of stashing tips in private gists and Notion pages, I’ve finally shipped my personal tech blog β€” Mohab.dev.

Why another backend blog?

  • Field-tested lessons Every post comes from production incidents, not theory.

  • Bite-sized reads Short enough to finish with your coffee, dense enough to bookmark.

  • Turn the unstructured into structured by trying to write about topics I know to identify the gaps in my knowledge.

  • Laying my brick in the knowledge base in the field, like many awesome articles from awesome people, contributed to who I am now as a software engineer.

What you can expect here

Theme Sample Topics in the Pipeline
Resilient Backends High-level and low-level system design topics β€’ Communications protocols like grpc and graphql
Data & Storage Database concurrency β€’ Query optimization β€’ Database internals
Observability Prometheus β†’ Grafana the painless way β€’ Structured logging patterns
Dev Life Debug-driven learning β€’ Balancing night-owl coding with sunrise stand-ups β€’ Opinion posts
β€œCoffee Break” Reads Architecture tales, book notes, snippets that amused me

Publishing rhythm: Fortnightly. Short, focused, field-tested.
