My Online Exam Experience
Fully Remote and Easy to FollowThe Functional Skills English Level 2 exam is split into three components: Reading, Writing, and Speaking & Listening. I booked all three together and chose my own dates.
Reading and Writing were done online with live invigilation.
The Speaking & Listening was completed via video call with a live examiner.
The process was smooth, professional, and I didn’t even need to leave my house.
Why Functional Skills Worked Better Than GCSEs
It Focuses on What You Really NeedFunctional Skills focuses on real communication: writing emails, reading letters, listening and responding. It’s not about analysing Shakespeare — it’s about what you’ll use at work or in everyday life.
And best of all, the qualification is Ofqual-approved and City and Guilds accredited — meaning it’s accepted by employers, universities, and even for visa applications.
