He Was Down to $45. Then He Made 106×. Liquidated again and again. Rich anyway.

1. Meet Mr. Oops

Let us introduce you to Mr. Oops. That's what we call him, because nobody knows his real name, and because once you see his trading, the name picks itself. On Christmas Eve 2023 he opened an account on Hyperliquid, a young crypto exchange, and put in $309. By March 2024 he had put in $3,991 in total. That's all the money he ever put in. Not one more dollar, ever.

So how does a guy who keeps losing end up with 106 times his money? Here's his story.

2. Three big liquidations

Here's the funny part. Mr. Oops was bad at this, but nobody can say he didn't try. He traded like it was his job, early mornings and late nights, bet after bet. He loved leverage, which means borrowing from the exchange to make every bet bigger. If the price goes the wrong way, the exchange closes the bet and keeps your money. That's a liquidation.

He made 180 trades. Then a big bet on DOGE, the dog meme coin, went the wrong way. Boom. Liquidated.

Most people would stop there. Mr. Oops put in more money and tried even harder: 96 more trades in four days, DOGE again. Boom. Liquidated again. When the dust settled, he had $45 left. He was out of money.

Then, out of nowhere, a little luck. Hyperliquid dropped free coins into the accounts of people who used it, and for Mr. Oops that was about $2,000. A second chance. Did he take it and walk away? Of course not. He went back to work, and this time he went big: just 11 trades, mostly on Bitcoin, some of them fifty times bigger than everything in his account. Boom. Liquidated. $348 left.

That was it. Mr. Oops almost stopped trading, and for months his account just sat there.

Mr. Oops's first eleven months: he puts in $3,991, is liquidated on DOGE twice and falls to $45, gets a free coin airdrop worth $2,297, then is liquidated on Bitcoin and has $348 left

3. The comeback

Then came November 29, 2024. Hyperliquid launched its own coin, HYPE, and gave a huge part of it away to the people who had used the exchange. And who had used it more than the guy who never stopped trading? Mr. Oops woke up to more than 7,000 HYPE in his account. By the end of that day, they were worth over $48,000.

All those losing trades had been lottery tickets. And this time, Mr. Oops did something new. He sold about half, took money out once, and kept the rest. HYPE went up, HYPE went down, and he just held on, month after month.

Today, the money he took out plus what he still holds adds up to $423,940. That's 106 times his money.

Mr. Oops's whole journey from Dec 2023 to Sep 22 2026: flat near zero, a jump on the Nov 29 2024 free HYPE airdrop, $39,999 taken out in Dec 2024, then he holds, and $423,940 today

4. MrNasdog's Thought

When I was digging into this story, one thing stood out to me. Mr. Oops worked really, really hard, but the hard work alone didn't seem to pay off. So I think finding the right method, and learning from people who do it better, probably matters more than working harder.

And in the end, his result is really good. I think there's a lot to learn from it. Some people are good at trading. If you're not, it may make sense to team up with people who are. Or do what he did: hold coins that keep their value for a long time.

His money is still in his wallet, so we keep tracking it. If you're curious, everything is right below, for free: the full PDF and his live wallet.
