TEL Inflation Analysis · June 2026 · Supply roughly flat on a fixed cap
Telcoin adds no new TEL over the next 90 days: the supply is capped at a fixed 100B, validator rewards on the new Telcoin Network are paid from an existing reserve rather than minted, and the network gas mechanism destroys and then equally re-issues TEL to the Treasury, so it is net supply-neutral. That leaves the framework at about 0% net — supply roughly flat. Our supply monitor reads the last 90 days at about −0.11%, marginally deflationary and within a tenth of a point of the framework read, so no monitor-gap flag is raised.
The verdict, in one paragraph

Both reads agree that Telcoin mints no new TEL above its cap, has no remaining vesting, and runs a gas mechanism that is supply-neutral rather than deflationary. TEL is best characterised as a fixed-cap telecom payments token whose supply is steady — not inflationary, but not yet meaningfully deflationary either, since the burn-and-regenerate design holds the total constant.
Sell pressure: where new TEL comes from
The honest answer is that no new TEL comes from anywhere. Sell #1 — protocol inflation — is zero: Telcoin has a fixed 100B supply and mints no tokens above that cap. Validator rewards on the Telcoin Network are funded from the existing pre-minted Treasury reserve — the 2026 governance budget draws from the remaining roughly 8.1B of Treasury and carryover inventory, not from new issuance — and the block-level gas mechanism destroys then equally re-issues TEL to the Treasury, which expands nothing. Sell #2 — vesting unlocks — is also zero: Telcoin's pre-launch allocations were distributed years ago and roughly 95% of supply already circulates, so there is no scheduled unlock cliff inside the window and nothing waiting to vest into the float.
Sell #3 — Foundation and unscheduled unlocks — is zero in the window. The TEL Treasury reserve, about 4.9B held back from circulating, together with the 2026 governance budget of 900M TEL — split across validator incentives, TELx liquidity, mainnet-launch operations and council compensation — is the standing team-controlled overhang. Foundation and overhang
TEL carries a clearly-defined structural overhang, all of it discretionary rather than scheduled. The TEL Treasury reserve — about 4.9B of supply classified as non-circulating — and the 900M TEL 2026 governance budget approved through Telcoin's on-chain proposal process together account for the gap between the roughly 95.08B circulating and the 100B cap, plus the remaining Treasury inventory behind it. None of it has a release dated inside this window: the budget is phased across the year and the realized supply has been flat-to-down rather than rising. If the Treasury balance falls between refreshes — for example as validator incentives or liquidity allocations actually leave the reserve — the outflow enters Sell #3 at the next refresh.
How TEL compares to other fixed-cap payment tokens
TEL belongs to the class of fixed-cap payment and utility tokens whose supply is nearly fully circulating and capped, rather than continuously emitted. Unlike a continuous-emission proof-of-stake Layer-1 that mints fresh tokens forever to pay validators, Telcoin pays its Telcoin Network validators out of a pre-minted Treasury reserve and cannot create TEL above the 100B cap, so there is no structural source of new supply at all. Unlike a halving-model chain whose supply still grows — only more slowly each cycle — TEL's total supply is held constant by design, neither expanding nor contracting on its own.
The sharper contrast is with fee-burn tokens. Where an exchange token or an EIP-1559-style Layer-1 removes coins from supply permanently as the network is used, Telcoin's gas mechanism is burn-and-regenerate: the TEL destroyed each block is reissued to the Treasury, so usage funds future validator yield without shrinking the total. That makes TEL structurally flat rather than deflationary, at least until network throughput is large enough that the design's intended scarcity effects show up in the data. The framework reads the mechanism as it actually behaves on-chain — net-neutral today — not as the marketing frames it. The distinguishing feature of Telcoin is therefore not its emission curve but its regulatory posture: a Nebraska digital-asset bank charter and a GSMA-operator validator set, which is a different kind of moat than supply scarcity.
What to watch in the next 90 days
Watch the Telcoin Network mainnet rollout, slated for the first half of 2026 — as real throughput comes online, the gas burn-and-regenerate flow becomes measurable and could begin to net against Treasury reissuance. Watch the Telcoin Association governance forum for execution of the 2026 budget, since a faster-than-phased release of the 900M TEL validator, liquidity or operations tranches would register in Sell #3.
