How to Discover Your Computer properties on Windows 11 Home

A. A computer is like a small team. Each part has a job.

  1. CPU is the brain. It does the thinking and work.

  2. RAM is like your study desk. It holds things you are using now.

  3. Storage is like a cupboard. It keeps your files, photos, games, and programs.

  4. GPU helps with pictures, videos, and games.

  5. Windows is the manager. It helps all the parts work together.

B. HDD and SSD

An HDD stores files but is usually slower.

An SSD also stores files, but it is faster. A computer with an SSD normally starts and opens programs faster.

How to check your computer

  1. On Windows:

  2. Click Start.

  3. Open Settings.

  4. Choose System.

  5. Click About.

You can also see what the computer is doing. This is what you may see.

B. Is my computer good?

  1. It depends on what you want to do.

  2. For schoolwork, typing, internet, and videos, you do not need a very powerful computer.

  3. For games, video editing, or drawing in 3D, you need a better CPU, more RAM, and often a good GPU.

C. Important tips

  1. Do not confuse RAM with storage.

  2. More RAM does not always mean the computer is faster

  3. Check the exact CPU model, not only names like “Core i5” or “Core i7.”

  4. Before installing a big game or program, check its computer requirements.

  5. Do not download strange files or click suspicious links.

  6. Keep Windows updated.

  7. Save important schoolwork in more than one place, for example on a USB, Google Drive, or OneDrive.

  8. You do not need to know every computer word. Start by knowing your CPU, RAM, storage, GPU, and Windows version. Slowly, computers will become easier to understand.
