Data breaches in the US increased 79% in just 5 years — 3,332 incidents recorded in 2025 alone

📊 New report: US data breaches up 79% in 5 years.

The Identity Theft Resource Center's 2025 Annual
Report just dropped some alarming numbers:

→ 3,332 data breaches in the US in 2025
→ That's a 79% increase from just 5 years ago
→ Average cost per breach: $4.88M (IBM 2025)
→ Average detection time: 194 days
→ Most targeted: Healthcare, Finance, Education

What this means for regular people:
→ Your doctor's office has been breached
→ Your bank has been breached
→ Your school has been breached
→ Even your home security company (ADT — 3x)

The uncomfortable truth:
Every app, service, and platform you use
is storing data about you.
When they get hacked, that data is gone.

The only real solution?
Store less data on servers you don't control.
